Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’
Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
This Lent we are raising money for Cafod. We are bringing in our loose change. In addition to this, we are 'giving it up', part of the Cafod Lenten campaign. Each class is having a competition to see who can raise the most - I wonder who it will be....!
Whatever we raise, the government will match fund it, so the more, the better! We know that it is important to think of others and to try our best to help those less fortunate than ourselves, whether it is raising money for charity or praying for people in need, we try to put our faith into action!
Pound for Pats!
We are also raising money as part of a joint project with all of the Catholic schools to help repair the roof of St Patrick's in Bradford. We donated a pound to have a DVD afternoon.
In the Autumn term, Mrs Wall organises the annual shoebox appeal run by the Samaritan's Purse. The children make shoeboxes full of small gifts for other children around the world who are less fortunate than they are. They are collected and sent off all over the world!
