Drop off and Collection

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know. If you wish your child to walk home, please let us know in writing.  This avoids any confusion or upset. If your child is late, please bring them to the reception office and log them in the system.

Parking

When dropping off/ picking up, please use the car park provided in school. If this is full, we can avail of the car park at church over the road. If this is also full, please park considerately outside the school. Please allow enough room for the bus and do not park on the zig-zag lines or block any driveways.

Under no circumstances drive in through the top entrance and down the drive way – this is dangerous for our small children who use that entrance when on foot.

Only disabled drivers with a disabled permit may park in the top carpark next to the office. Please do NOT park on the driveway unless in a designated parking bay. Cars parked on the driveway, even when mounted on the curb, present a blockage to other cars and emergency services and this can be a danger to our children's safety.

Thank you for your continued support.

If you require further assistance please contact us.

Before and after school childcare

Whilst St Joseph's offers a variety of before and after school clubs (see 'After school activities'), St Joseph's does not provide wrap around care for your children as we do not have appropriate facilities. However, we do have links with several other options which are detailed below.

Through our Extended Schools Partnership, Trinity and All Saints Church of England Primary School does and there are places at their 'Trinity Plus' club after school that our parents can access. The children are put on the 'Yellow Bus' after school by a member of our staff and collected off it by a Trinity Plus staff member and escorted into the club. Your child can stay there until 5 or 6pm and access a range of craft, games, woodwork and sports activities all supervised by a friendly and professional team.

Trinity Plus has 40 places and is open to children aged 4-11 who are in full time education at Trinity All Saints School and St Joseph's. It is registered under Ofsted under the umbrella of the school.

If there are more applicants for places than the club has vacancies for, then the following criteria will be applied:

  • Places are allocated to siblings of those already attending
  • Those whose parents are newly entering employment or education
  • Then in strict order as to the date their name was put on any waiting list.

Attendance at the after school club until  5pm = £7.00 (siblings £6.00)

6pm = £8.50 (siblings £6.50)

For further details we have a leaflet and application forms in our office which Christine or Clare will be happy to give to you. Alternatively, contact Debbie Gibson on 07789083795 who is the play leader.
