PSHE and RSE
Subject Leader - Mrs Beckett
At St Joseph’s our PSHE follows our school weekly Ethos Statements.
These statements are split into three themes for each term:
Autumn – Living in the wider world
Spring – Health and Wellbeing
Summer – Relationships
We promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of each individual child. We prepare them for the opportunities, possibilities and experiences of adult life.
We use the Coram Life Education Programme ‘SCARF’ to enrich our PSHE themes. The Life caravan visits school annually and every child receives the chance to go in and learn about how to keep themselves safe, happy and healthy.
S is for Safety
C is for Caring
A is for Achievement
R is for Resilience
F is for Friendship
As part of our RSE programme, we follow 'A Journey of Love', one of the programmes recommended by the diocese of Leeds.
Here is our RSE policy. Here is the powerpoint presentation that we used to introduce the programme to parents when it was launched.
Here is further information about the RSE 'A Journey of Love' curriculum for parents. There is a parent's leaflet for each year group:
