Drop off and Collection

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  

Please drop off your child on time in the mornings. Those children that are late into school often miss the first part of their lessons and this can be confusing and upsetting for them. Please remain with your child in the playground until 8:50 when the staff will come and collect them. It is your responsibility to ensure their safety up until this time. If your child is late, please bring them to the reception office and log them in the system in the entrance. This is to ensure that the fire/safeguarding registers are always up to date.

Please ensure your children are collected  promptly at 3:20pm. We are NOT responsible for supervising your children after this time unless they are attending an after school club. We do not have the staff or facilities to supervise the children who have not been picked up on time. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know as soon as possible. If you wish your child to walk home, please let us know in writing.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

Parking

When dropping off/ picking up, please use the car park provided in school. If this is full, we can avail of the car park at church over the road. If this is also full, please park considerately outside the school. Please allow enough room for the bus and do not park on the zig-zag lines or block any driveways.

Under no circumstances drive in through the top entrance and down the drive way – this is dangerous for our small children who use that entrance when on foot.

Only disabled drivers with a disabled permit may park in the top carpark next to the office. Please do NOT park on the driveway unless in a designated parking bay. Cars parked on the driveway, even when mounted on the curb, present a blockage to other cars and emergency services and this can be a danger to our children's safety.

Before and after school childcare

At St Joseph's we offer a variety of before and after school clubs (see 'After school activities'), we also have a wrap around care 'Joe's Club' which offers childcare before and after school. For further information please see our St. Joe's Club section.

Please note: St Joseph's cannot recommend or endorse one childcare provider over another. You should always investigate all options to find the best fit for you and your child. There may be other childminders willing to pick up/drop off at our school who are registered with Bradford.
